If we do the same
thing, if we take the same action or a variation of the same action
and get the same unwanted result each time, something must change.
Some new information has to be taken in to supply some new action or a
change in perception. If we fail to do this we can’t help but fall
into a state of helplessness and frustration, which can easily lead to
a state of depression where all forward action is stopped. To
occasionally feel frustrated and helpless is normal for anyone in any
business, but a constant feeling of frustration and helplessness is an
actor’s occupational hazard. The constant bombardment of these
feelings creates a wall between you and what you really want to
accomplish. These two feelings are quite insidious and act upon us,
with or without our acknowledgment. They steal our excitement, our
energy and most of all our self-esteem.

What's New at the Studio... |

New Online Commercial Showcase |
|
The
John Sudol Studio is proud to introduce our NEW Online Showcase for our
students to present themselves and their skills to commercial agents and
managers. We had a lot of success with the tape showcase prior. A lot of
people signed with good agents. This is going to be the first one that is
actually online.
You are getting this email because we have already worked together and I
feel that you are still members of the studio so you will get the members
price.
Here is information regarding the showcase...
-
We will start taping
around October 28Th.
-
The price is: $125.00
for students/$185 for non-students.
-
You will receive a 1
hour time slot to have your "commercial spot" taped.
-
You will have the
opportunity to place two headshots (maybe more) on the website along
with your resume.
-
I plan to put no more
than 14 people up on the site at a time. Once you are up on the
site, you will have your own link so that you can invite whomever
you would like to view your material.
-
We will be contacting
several agents and managers inviting them to our Online Showcase.
-
The Online Showcase will
be launched December 2006.

Saturday Afternoon Improv at the
Studio! |
|
So many commercial
auditions today are improvisational. From driving a car and chatting
to your husband, wife and kids while you notice how the car handles;
to a party scene looking for a paper towel strong enough to wipe up
the mess you made; from shopping for clothes with a friend; to getting
the kids ready for school. Our new four-week Improvisation Class began
last month and is designed to teach the actor basic improvisational skills
so he and she can handle these types of set ups.
Carla Rosati teaches actors through specially
designed exercises and games how to create and execute what’s being
asked of them in a moment's notice. This class can also be taken
separately or concurrently with our
Commercial Classes
LEVEL1 or
LEVEL 2.
WHEN:
Saturdays
TIME:
1:00-4:00 PM
COST: $160.00
Returning students can repeat this level for $100.00.

New Kids/Teen Training Program |
From many
conversations with agents and managers, training has become the number one
factor when considering taking on an actor or bringing them in for an
audition.
The goal of the Kids & Teens Commercial Program is to equip actors
with the skills and information, which will give him or her the confidence
to succeed. By the end of the program the actor will not only acquire the
necessary skills that will increase their effectiveness, but will have a
better idea as to where they fit in.
The
NEW Kids & Teens
Training Program
Begins January 2006
